My time at Hawaii Dental Assisting Academy has enriched my life in so many ways. Firstly, I want to thank Mercie Uy for EVERYTHING. I was injured at my previous job and was in the process of trying to figure out what to do for a career going forward. I always had a bit of interest in the dental industry and luckily I found HDAA! I signed up and didn’t know anything about dentistry except for some basic knowledge we all pick up from media or our visits to the dentist. I went from a blank slate to being hired and loving my job. I was even promoted to a lead position! Thank you HDAA for all of the knowledge and guidance you’ve provided me. I would recommend HDAA to anyone who is thinking about becoming a DA, it will equip you with the tools necessary to succeed and ensure you have the confidence to keep learning and growing even after you are hired as a DA. HUGE thanks to April as well, who allowed me to shadow and get in-chair experience during my externship, it really made an impact on my skill set.

I have made new friends and I have met the most intelligent most wonderful instructor ever Ms.Mercie. Being her former student of HDAA, Ms. Mercie went beyond measures for me to get where I am today, it’s because of her that she molded me into the women I am today, because of her I finally got my dream job working with the Military, and because of her I got the courage and confidence to go back to school for my CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) which will help my in the long run in my career as a dental assistant.
