We incorporate progressive mental training as well as physical progresive training in all our drills. We will also show you how to play more efficiently and by adding subtle "key" adjustments to your movements. This is part of our "progressive" training which will help you advance from one level to the next.

Our advanced clinics also incorporate "game" rhythm training to condition our athletes to be "solid as a rock" at all times. We achieve this with our unique "wave" training. We condition our athletes to play from whistle to whistle thus saving energy and to manage downtime. Our methods will have your athletes mentally strong for any situation even from a "cold" state. Our athletes will not be dazed if their team is down by points. But rather they will be mentally strong to finish strong. Your teams coaches will definately take notice.

Our clinics are also unique in a way that we involve the "thought process" of each individual. Instead of always doing static drills that becomes repetitious, we incorporate extra steps in our drills to train the athletes to think "whats next", instead of stopping at their last action. Although we have a storied and decorated past, we operate in the present. We know today's actions impact tomorrow's outcomes, not yesterday's success. We are humble, driven, passionate, and every member's goals are as important to us as they are to them.

Every journey is different, but our goal is the same. We want our time with young athletes to be meaningful and we want them to be prepared for the next level, on the court and off. For some, the next level is making the varsity team in high school. For others, it's to play for a NCAA Division I program. Whatever your child's next level is, we're here to guide them on their journey. Helping them to be better versions of themselves and extract all the valuable lessons that the sports expereince provides.

We start with the end in mind and prioritize learning, development, and character. This long-term outlook helps ensure that we provide athletes with the guidance they need to achieve their end goals. As a college-prep program, this is our primary focus, to help our members attain success when it matters most, at the highest scholastic level and beyond.

We use eight key concepts to drive development. The first 4 concepts are the cornerstones of our program and pertain to our 14 and under athletes. As athletes get older, we move towards concepts that are more appropriate for their cognitive and physical abilities.

This continues to be a Ka Ulukoa cornerstone. Every athlete learns to pass, serve, set, attack, dig, and block.

We want kids to learn how to play a variety of positions and to gain experience in both the front and back row.

Members learn to be deliberate, supportive, anticipate responsibilities, give their best effort, hustle, and evaluate processes.

We strive to win, but our main emphasis at this stage is on the development of skills, basic team systems, and game IQ.

Specialization provides an opportunity to learn about positional nuances, which allows us to compete at higher levels.

Once members can execute skills with proficiency, we explore more complex offensive and defensive systems/concepts.

Upperclassmen start facilitating their own practices. Coaches continue to teach, but athletes take on more responsibilities.

A volleyball combine is an event where prep volleyball players showcase their skills, talent and volleyball IQ to a captive audience of collegiate volleyball coaches in an effort to get recruited. Players are showcased right here in Honolulu before top volleyball coaches from across the country. Players have the equal opportunity to show their skills to these coaches.

We first had the idea of starting a volleyball club in 1995. We wanted to create a culture of growth, determination, and passion, not only for the game of volleyball but for life.

They are also great coaches with a lot of experience they can share with your young athlete. In some rare unforeseen circumstances, there may be a change in coaches. We will notifiy you and provide a similar coach if this occurs.
