In 1859 the O’ahu Cemetery Association wass formed, one of the first non-profits in Hawaii. As an independent non-profit 501(c)(13) organization, we are proud to be wholly owned by our lot owners and to operate for their benefit, governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees & Directors, respectively. Our chapel was designed by renowned architect Oliver G. Traphagen. In 1901, Traphagen designed the first hotel on Waikiki Beach, the Moana, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Just 5 years later, in 1906, Traphagen designed the chapel at O’ahu Cemetery.
