Dr. James W. Pearce joined Straub in 1980. His special interests include epilepsy, dementia, stroke, headache, pain syndromes and sleep disorders. He completed his residency at the University of California, Los Angeles and Veterans Affairs West Los Angeles Medical Center and completed a Neurophysiology fellowship at the Western Regional Epilepsy Center/VA West Los Angeles Medical Center. Dr. Pearce completed additional training in sleep medicine at the Stanford Sleep Disorders Center.

Although the visit was brief, Doctor Pearce focused o the main issues affecting me.

Parking Garage. Spend more time in there finding parking then driving to the location.

I felt comfortable during the entire visit and glad that my sleep apnea problem may be a major factor in my current memory problem.

I came in a day early---my mistake---and the Neurology Dept. worked me into their schedule. The nurses and receptionists were top notch. Dr. Pearce is a real mensch---he came in with smiles and a reassuring approach. Great Work Straub!!!

I really appreciate the provider's care and concern for my medical conditions. Poor oversight by previous providers have left my mental health in a deteriorated space.

Thank you for your kindness and for listening to me, both for the nurses and to the doctor.

I called for an appt. Got one about 2 months out. I was called to reschedule, MD was on call. Rescheduled for another 2 months out. The straub staff offered to see if another MD could see me sooner. Kudos to that staff who thought about the patient and how long I would have to wait and was proactive in finding a solution. I did see someone sooner. And was satisfied with the visit.

I was a little bit late there was traffic and I had trouble with the parking meter it wouldent take my card I don't like parking in the garage. When I got there I thought the receptionist was somewhat rude she said the might have to reschedule my standby appointment because I was 15 mins late. I had already turned down work and made sure I was avail for this appointment. Despite what she said I waited and was seen in a timely fashion. I would of prefered to of waited all day then told I'd have to maybe reschedule. Drs. Are typically behind schedule and it's to be expected it shows hopefully they are taking enough time with people.

Dr Pearce was very knowledgeable and thoughtful. He listened to my concerns and questions, and then conducted a series of "tests" before recommending next steps. I now have a neuro-opthalmology referral as well as blood test results, after which I will schedule a follow-up with Dr. Pearce. I am relieved that we are making progress in diagnosing my health issues and working towards resolving these issues.
